the NKP Creative Services, Inc.

The mission of supplying high-quality graphics production direct to small and medium-sized business combined with a knowledge of railroad lore produced the name NKP Creative Services, Inc.

The corporation was formed in 1984 and took "Creative Services" from a previous company named "Stan Sweatt's Creative Services" and added the "NKP".

NKP is actually the railroad reporting mark (license number) used on railroad cars of the New York, Chicago and St. Louis railroad. NKP was for the nickname "Nickel Plate Road". "Nickel plated" was a late 1800's term synonomous with high-quality (like gold-plated). A March 1881 article in the Ohio Norwalk Chronicle is credited for first applying the term to the railroad, and it was adopted officially.
